The word “work” has the connotation of difficulty. We assume that working our way through the maze won’t be easy. The word “work” puts it in that context. But nothing says we have to move only through the open doors. In the second solution, we worked our way through the maze. We just didn’t work as hard!
In solving medical product development problems, be aware of the words you use to characterize the challenge.
