Everyone knows that getting the right amount of sleep is one of the most important aspects of a healthy lifestyle, but did you know that 35% of U.S. adults do NOT get their recommended 7 hours of sleep each night? Unfortunately, having a sleep deficit is a common problem for a lot of adults and sleeping less than the recommended hours can lead to a lot of health problems. Health tracking, wearable devices such as the Fitbit are now helping consumers track their sleep and are assisting them in evaluating their sleep quality on a daily basis, but what these devices don’t do is wake you up at the optimum time in your sleep cycle. They just wake you up at whatever time you set your alarm to go off. Upon recognizing the need in the market for a smart alarm, a company called Sleepace developed a product called the Nox.
One of the awesome things about the Nox is that it will wake you up when it senses that you are in a light point in your sleep cycle. It can also track your sleep quality and give you a sleep score so you can keep track of it over time. Being able to watch the trends in your sleep can help you improve your health by recognizing the habits you do that disrupt your sleep cycle or lower your sleep quality. Once you are able to isolate those bad habits, then you can stop them and improve your sleep quality. We believe that there will be more devices emerging in the market like this soon.
